Winter Veggie Bowl with MorningStar Farms® Sausage Style Crumbles

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Olive oil
  • 4 oz. Brussels sprouts, quartered and blanched
  • 1 Tbs. Garlic, chopped
  • 2 oz. Onions, julienned
  • 6 oz.* MorningStar Farms® Italian Sausage-Style Crumbles
  • ½ cup Toasted garlic croutons
  • 2 oz. Pickled banana peppers or pickled tear drop peppers
  • ¼ cup Italian parsley, leaves only
  • 2 oz. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 oz. Balsamic reduction

Recipe Directions

1. Heat two non-stick pans over medium-low heat. In one pan, add a drizzle of olive oil and the brussels sprouts in an even layer so the they start to caramelize on one side.
2. To the second pan, add a drizzle of olive oil, garlic, and onion and cook until translucent.
3. Turn the brussels sprouts so they caramelize on the other side. In the pan with garlic and onion, add the MorningStar Farms® Italian Sausage-Style Crumbles and cook until the crumbles start to caramelize. Add the brussels sprouts to the pan with the crumbles, toss to fully incorporate.
4. Remove the mixture from heat. To the pan, add croutons, pickled peppers, and parsley. Combine well, season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Place mixture in the center of a serving bowl and garnish with Parmesan cheese and balsamic reduction.
