Swiss-Covered Gardenburger® with German Sauerkraut

Mahlzeit! This no nonsense blend of hardy ingredients will satisfy the troops. And thanks to a delicious Gardenburger® they won't miss the brat.

Ingredients

  • 24 each (3 pounds 12 ounces) Gardenburger® Original Veggie Patties
  • 2 quarts 1 3/4 cups (3 lbs) button mushrooms, fresh
  • 1/4 cup (2 fl. ounces) vegetable oil
  • 1 quart 1 1/2 cups (3 lbs) prepared German sauerkraut
  • 24 slices (1 lb 8 ounces) Swiss cheese, slice
  • 1/2 cup (4 fl. ounces) Dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups (12 fl. ounces) mayonnaise
  • 24 each sourdough buns
  • 24 leafs (1 lb 8 ounces) romaine leaf, fresh
  • 96 rings (1 lb 8 ounces) red onions,sliced

Recipe Directions

1. Cook Gardenburger® Original Burger patty according to directions.
2. Sauté mushrooms in vegetable oil until browned, about 5 minutes.
3. Place mushrooms, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on patty.
4. Place patty under broiler for 2 minutes to melt cheese.
5. Combine mustard and mayonnaise and spread on bottom bun.
6. Place lettuce and onions on bottom bun, then place patty on top of lettuce mixture and top with bun.
