Double Smokehouse Gardenburger® Malibu Burger

Products Used: Gardenburger® Malibu Burger Veggie Patties

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Onion, julienned
  • ¼ cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Flour
  • for cooking Oil
  • 2 patties* Gardenburger® Malibu Burger
  • 1 ea. Burger bun
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 2 slices Vegan cheddar cheese (or any easy-melting cheese)
  • 2 oz. BBQ sauce
  • for garnish Arugula
  • 1 slice Tomato

Recipe Directions

1. Add julienned onions to buttermilk.
2. Remove onions from buttermilk and coat in flour.
3. In a ​large skillet over medium heat, heat about 1” oil. Once oil is simmering, add onions, working in batches, and fry until golden, about 2 minutes.
4. While onions cook, heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
5. When hot, add both Gardenburger® Malibu Burger patties and cook for 4 minutes on first side. Salt and pepper, if desired.
6. While cooking the patties, add your burger buns to the griddle to lightly toast.
7. After 4 minutes, flip patties and cook for 4 minutes more then add cheese and BBQ sauce on both patties.
8. To assemble your burger, place both patties on top of your toasted bun, top with arugula and sliced tomato.
