Chik'n & Waffles with Honey Thyme Butter

Ingredients

  • 4.5 cups Homestyle Chik’n Tenders Waffle Mix
  • 3 cups Unsweetened soy milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Yogurt (sub vegan)
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon, ground
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive oil spray

Honey Thyme Butter

Recipe Directions

For the waffles:
1. Preheat waffle iron to medium-high heat.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk waffle mix, soy milk, yogurt, and cinnamon until batter is well combined.
3. Spray waffle iron with cooking spray and ladle waffle batter into preheated waffle iron. Close the iron and cook for 3 minutes or until golden brown.
For the Honey Thyme Butter:
1. In a medium pot add butter and honey or syrup.
2. Add the thyme, vanilla and pecans and simmer on low for 5 minutes. Set aside.
For the Chik’n:
1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
2. Place the frozen MorningStar Farms® Incogmeato® Homestyle Chik’n tenders on a sheet pan and heat for 12-14 minutes. Turn tenders over halfway.
To serve:
1. Cut a waffle into 4 pieces and place on plate. Top with chik’n tenders and drizzle tops with honey thyme butter. Garnish with powdered sugar.
NOTE:
For safety, the product must be cooked from frozen to an internal temperature of 165° F, measured by a thermometer in two places.
