Mediterranean Vegan Pita Burger Served with Spicy Lime Sauce

Ingredients

  • 9 slices White Bread, sliced in quarters
  • 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 fl ounces) Tahini
  • 1/4 cup 2 tablespoons (1 3/4 ounces) Garlic Cloves
  • 1/4 cup 2 tablespoons (3 fl ounces) Lime Juice
  • 1/2 cup 2 tablespoons (5 fl ounces) Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Freshly Ground Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds
  • 12 each (2 pounds) Morningstar Farms® Grillers® Original
  • 12 each Pitas, sliced in half
  • 2 each (2 pounds 12 ounces) Romaine Lettuce Heads, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Mint Leaves, chopped
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 ounces) Sun Dried Tomatoes, chopped

Recipe Directions

1. Tear white bread into chunks. Put the bread, tahini, garlic and lime juice in a food processor and process into a coarse paste. Gradually add olive oil during processing. Transfer garlic spread to a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Mix in sesame seeds.

Sauté vegan burgers per instructions until browned on both sides. Remove and cut burgers in half.

Cut each pita in half and then open up to make pockets for burgers. Add shredded lettuce, burger half and a spoonful of garlic-lime sauce into each pita half. Top pita spread with fresh mint, sun dried tomatoes and serve.
